French wine

We went to Bourgogne partly to visit a red wine area, since we were spending most of our time in Alsace - a white wine area.  Maybe it was the food or the fruit or just being there, but the wine was terrific.  Neither of us had been very interested in white wine, but iwe had some wonderful meals there with the Choucroute (sauerkraut cooked in wine with sausages) and the fruit.  The wine was richly supportive of the food.  The Burgundy reds were robust and complex, asking for a heartier deeper meal.
